Agreement to Terms
By downloading, installing, or using BopBar ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
License Grant
YouMeApps grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use BopBar for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.
Purchase Terms
Full License (One-Time Purchase)
- Lifetime access to the current major version (v1.x)
- Use on all Macs you personally own
- All future v1.x updates included
- No recurring charges or subscriptions
- Pricing: $1.99 USD (pricing is stated at time of purchase and may change for future purchases)
Purchase Management
- Purchases are managed through your Apple ID and are subject to Apple's terms
- You can restore previous purchases on any device signed into the same Apple ID through Settings > License > Restore Purchases
Acceptable Use Policy
You agree NOT to:
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
- Circumvent purchase or licensing mechanisms
- Redistribute, resell, or sublicense the App
- Use the App in any way that interferes with Apple Music's normal operation
- Modify or create derivative works of the App
Third-Party Services
BopBar interacts with the following services on your device. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms:
- Apple Music (Music.app): BopBar controls playback and reads track metadata via AppleScript. Subject to Apple Media Services Terms.
- Mac App Store: BopBar is distributed and updated through the Mac App Store. Purchases are handled by Apple and are subject to Apple's terms.
Intellectual Property
BopBar and all associated content, features, and functionality — including the application code, user interface design, audio spectrum visualization, and branding — are owned by YouMeApps and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:
- The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App
- Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App
- We are not liable for any issues arising from changes to Apple Music, macOS, or AppleScript behavior
- We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation of the App
Disclaimer
BopBar relies on AppleScript to control Apple's Music app. Changes to macOS or the Music app by Apple may affect BopBar's functionality. While we strive to maintain compatibility, we cannot guarantee that BopBar will function correctly across all macOS updates. We commit to issuing timely updates when Apple's changes affect BopBar.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless YouMeApps from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.
Updates and Modifications
- We may update the App with new features, fixes, or changes at our discretion
- We may modify these Terms at any time
- Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms
- Major changes will be communicated through the App or the BopBar website
Termination
- We may terminate or suspend access to the App for violation of these Terms
- You may stop using the App at any time
- Termination does not affect rights or obligations that arose before termination
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
